Dr Sascha Edelstein is a Fertility Specialist and Managing Director at Thrive Fertility, with more than 15 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate their fertility journeys. His approach is grounded in patient autonomy and informed decision-making, with a strong focus on ensuring patients have the clarity and support they need to make decisions that are right for them, rather than simply being progressed through standard treatment pathways.

Sascha trained at the University of Cape Town, completing his medical degree before undertaking specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and sub-specialist training in Reproductive Medicine. His postgraduate research focused on PCOS (recently renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), a condition at the intersection of reproductive medicine, metabolic health and patient experience. He holds a Master of Medicine, a Master of Philosophy, and Fellowship of the College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of South Africa (2007).

Before relocating to Melbourne in 2016, Sascha served as Medical Director of the HART Clinic in Cape Town, a boutique fertility clinic with a focus on holistic, integrative fertility care, working alongside allied health practitioners including acupuncturists and naturopaths. In 2018, he was awarded Fellowship with RANZCOG, and he remains an active member of the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Over his career, Sascha has worked across a wide range of fertility service models, from high-volume, low-cost programmes to highly individualised care settings. That breadth informed his vision for Thrive: a clinic that takes both the science and the person seriously, without the price tag that usually accompanies that level of care.

His connection to fertility medicine is also deeply personal. Sascha and his wife went through several rounds of IVF to conceive their daughters and navigating that experience, including the challenges of accessing care, shaped the values and ethos at the heart of Thrive.
